I sent this e-mail to my wifes' best friend tonight. He's a hardcore Republican and a Palin fanatic. I'm not hardcore anything, but sometimes, like Headless, I like to wind people up to watch them go. I don't take politics all that seriously, but a lot of people do, so on that note..................
In 1987, Ronald Reagan, the patriarch of the modern Republican party nominated a horror of a Supreme Court candidate named Robert Bork. Fortunately the U.S. Congress had the good sense to send him packing. I remember that as being the point in my life where I first became really
"politically minded". Since then I've been moderately passionate to lukewarm about various
politicians from time to time. Not since Bork though have I ever been absolutely and completely horrified by a candidate for high office as I am now by Sarah bridge-to-nowhere Palin. If I could believe that the anti-Christ could appear in female form this woman would definitely qualify. Sarah Palin is a liar, a fascist, a hypocrite, an extremist, irresponsible, and a complete moron.
Sarah Palin is a liar. I merely have to point to her most recent speeches this week to prove that point. She would try to dupe the American public into believing that Barack Obama is trying to introduce sex education to kindergardeners. Pretty sleazy. Even Karl Rove, the master of the Bush spin machine had to grit his teeth and call them on it yesterday. Palin and McCain should be ashamed for stooping so low. Is this the sort of spin we are to expect from such high and moral leaders for the next four years? Not if my vote can prevent it. It's a pity more Americans don't have sense enough to pour piss out of a boot and pick up a copy of Obama's "Blueprint for Change" or they'd be on to her blatant lies regarding Obamas' tax policy. I suppose praying for forgiveness at the end of the night somehow makes the garbage she's trying to sell easier on her conscience. Just a few minutes ago I just heard John McCain claim Palin didn't ask for earmarks as governor. What a whopper! She claims her one trip overseas was to visit troops in Kuwait but Sarah Palin never stepped foot in Iraq or Kuwait. That's a documented fact.
Sarah Palin is a fascist. True, she only asked Mary Ellen Emmons how she felt about "certain" books being banned............on 3 occasions. The fact that she asked her this on three occasions is not in dispute, nor is Mrs Emmons statement to the same to the Wasilla city council.
Palin then notified Emmons she would be fired one week later because the mayor didn't feel she had the librarian's "full support." Emmons was reinstated the next day after public outcry. In other words, the townspeople called her on it and she backed down. History has shown time and time again that this sort of fascist behavior only gets worse the more power one has. BANNING BOOKS? You've got to be kidding me!! The only reason this story isn't a daily headline yet is because the
librarian is cowering in the shadows with her doors locked and her phone off the hook until November 5th so she isn't lynched by Governor Book-Burning Barracuda. Once the rest of this story breaks you can rest assured people will be turning on her like a pack of rabid Alaskan wolves on a crashed helicopter.
Sarah Palin is a hypocrite. Earmarks!!! Need I say more? Alaska has received more earmarks per capita during her tenor as governor than any state in the Union. Who is she trying to fool? Oh yeah! American citizens. Agent of change my left ear. Now I hear tonight that she refuses to
cooperate with the Trooper-gait investigation after first saying she would. I won't even speak to the flip-flop arguement but it sounds like the Republicans want another 8 years of
"Executive Priviledge". Of course the trooper should have been fired, but the governor shouldn't have gotten involved. That goes towards her judgement.
Sarah Palin is an extremist. I'm able to separate extremism from religion. I'm not so sure Palin can. I could have easily been persuaded to vote for Mike Huckabee. Huckabee doesn't strike me as the extremist type and to the best of my knowledge didn't lie during the primaries. Sounds to me like the "Straight-talk Express" ended up on the same track as that passenger train in Los Angelas
this week. My concern is that she's an evangelical. I don't want an evangelical making policies for this country. I want an executive. This is why it's called the "Executive Branch". I want evangelicals in church on Sunday morning where they belong. Isn't this country based on the concept of separation of Church and State or is that another partisan idea?
Sarah Palin is irresponsible. This is the same woman who proudly declared yesterday that when John McCain asked her to run as his VP accepted "instantly", and "without reservation". I would think most people would take a few minutes to think about such an important decision. This says to me she didn't bother to consider her 4 month old Downs' Syndrome child before saying "YES". In my opinion a Down's Syndrome baby deserves 110% of a mother and fathers' attention. A month ago I'm sure most every "Republican" in this country wouldn't have argued that point but today? Well?
Strangely enough, I would think that with the state of the American economy and the increasing role the VP position has played in our democratic system that the a Vice President would require 100% of one's dedication and attention. Hmmmm, That's 210% No one considers this point though.
They just scream, "Sexist" and point like Donald Sutherland at the end of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Palins' kneejerk reaction tells me all I need to know about her decision-making ability, not to mention John McCains' priorities for selling poor little Trig down the river to keep his campaign alive. What kind of man asks a mother of a special needs child to take on such a responsibility? And while I'm on John McCain, I'm tired of having his patriotism being shoved down my throat as a qualification for President. I'm a veteran too. Big Deal. It doesn't qualify me to be President just because I spent 7 months pounding sand in Iraq any more than being a POW qualifies McCain.
Most Americans are morons! It's true. This is why we have the Electoral College after all, because Americans were judged too ignorant by the founding fathers to have meaningful, informed opinions on such important matters as politics. Most Americans still believe everything they hear on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, etc. because they "saw it on TV". No one does their own research. No one knows about Herman & Chomskys' Propaganda Model or considers that there's a conservative press spinning as fast as the liberal one. It's either the "truth" or a "liberal media" spin. No one knows about the word 'moderate". It's all conservatives and liberals and never the twain shall meet. I happen to be neither liberal nor conservative but have beliefs akin to both. Extremists of all types scare the Holy Crap out of me as they should any sensible American.
The polls are as close as they are because Americans are 1. prejudiced of the black guy who might have been sworn in on the Koran (a lie), and 2. because they believe the garbage people like the
Sean Hannitys' and Bill O'Reillys' are feeding them instead of looking it up for themselves. I don't see the positive life-affirming energy either. I see a dangerous incompetant zealot. That 'South Dakota for the Hot-Chick' button I saw at the RNC seems to frame the typical Republican mentality this year: re-arranging deck chairs on the Titantic while the ship goes down the drain. Drill Baby Drill!
